Our School
Our students are taught to make the most of their potential.

The Montessori School of Herndon (MSH) was established in 1984 and is one of the oldest and best recognized schools in Northern Virginia.

Our school inspires excellence without stress. We teach our students to value their own strengths and to make the most of their potential.

The teachers know each child as an individual. We want all of our students to succeed and we take personal interest and pride in each child.

Our Teachers and Classrooms
Each classroom is led by a Montessori certified graduate.

Classroom ActivitiesIn addition to their individual educational backgrounds, each classroom is led by a Montessori certified graduate. They have received their Montessori Teacher's Credentials after one year of study at an AMS training course followed by a one year long internship.

?Learning at the Montessori School of Herndon takes place in a safe, non-competitive environment free of stress, yet full of challenging and enriching activities. Our Classrooms are designed to maximize the learning and development of the child.

? The children at the Montessori School of Herndon become individuals who enjoy learning and seek knowledge for the love of knowledge.

Montessori Education
Building a foundation for success.

Child LearningIn 1907, Dr. Maria Montessori devised a coherent system of education to address the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of children. Montessori children develop confidence, self discipline and independence, as well as an enthusiasm for learning.

In the Montessori classroom, instructions are based on a child's individual needs, interests and abilities. An organized approach to problem solving and strong academic skills are developed at an earlier age as compared to traditional schools.
